Why I attended Loyola Marymount University and Why I choose to give

My reasons for choosing Loyola Marymount University (LMU), or in my case Marymount College decades ago, are not vastly different from judgments students make today on where to attend college. I wanted an academically challenging environment that fostered learning, stimulated thinking, nurtured spirituality and spiritual awareness, encouraged development – personal – faith – academic – and sought participation and service to others.  These attributes along with the smaller class sizes, recognized departments and colleges and caring professors, are cornerstones of the education at LMU.

My Liberal Arts background provided me with the foundation for my varied career paths from the non-profit field to hospitality and travel, sales and journalism.  My education at LMU gave me a sense of community and service, skills to function in multiple industries and guided me to a lifetime of service to others through my volunteer efforts.

I choose to give because I believe the “LMU Experience” should be afforded to all qualified students and financial constraints should not be the barrier to entrance
