Who is Peggy

picBioI am a native Californian and met my husband while we were both attending Loyola Marymount University. Following graduation, we married and continued to live in Los Angeles while raising our family.

Once our children were older, career moves allowed us to live in New York, the San Francisco Bay Area, Austin Texas and San Diego before finally returning after sixteen years, to Los Angeles. With grandchildren living in the Los Angeles environs, there was enticement to return home and be active in their lives.

My professional life commenced in the social services field, and adding a Master’s Degree in Human Services, enhanced my skill base as an executive. The administrative responsibilities afforded me the opportunity to compose and create technical and operational handbooks for staff, board members, and service volunteers in a number of name-recognized agencies. This is where my interest in writing started.

My passion for travel led me and keeps me in the travel industry now spanning more than three decades and encompassed owning a number of travel management companies. Highlights included the co-founding of a marketing consortium for small full-service and cruise travel agencies and independent contractors. Our nationwide network represented more than 5,000 sellers of travel with annual sales over $180 million. The preferred contracts were personally negotiated and incorporated name-recognized worldwide travel products. Responsibilities included writing daily travel advisories, supplier updates, important worldwide travel news and a personal bi-weekly e-news column.

Presently I work directly with clients as an independent travel consultant. In association with a national travel agency and a marketing consortium, I specialize in cruises and tours for a discerning clientele.

With an ambitious business and leisure travel schedule, I’am given the opportunity to pursue another passion-Travel Writing. I am a professional freelance travel writer given my most recent experience of having been a travel editor for a national online travel magazine.

While my other professions cultivated and enriched my interest in writing, I have expanded my attention into fiction with the publication of my debut novel, Son of my Father – A Family Dynasty. My background with upscale and luxury travel and products, served as cornerstones in the character development and storyline of my book. Currently, l’m working on the second book in this Family Dynasty series.

In my free time, I enjoy exercising, hiking, reading, socializing and entertaining, classical music and attending educational seminars and spending time with family.
